Chelsea are currently flying high in the league as the Blues top the Premier League table after five games played.
Maurizio Sarri has turned Chelsea around in terms of playing style, having brought his much famed Sarri-ball to Stamford Bridge, and the Chelsea fans are loving every bit of it.
However, former Liverpool star Craig Bellamy still has his doubts about Sarri. Bellamy has warned the Italian that he could be sacked at Chelsea when results stop coming.
There have been lots of high-profile managerial sacks at Chelsea, and Bellamy pointed to the sack of former boss Antonio Conte during the summer as a warning, despite having guided Chelsea to the Premier League title in just his first season in charge of the club.
Discussing Chelsea’s bright start in the league this season, Bellamy told The Debate on Sky Sports: “If it was another club out there, I’d probably say it would take time but with Chelsea, it doesn’t – they’re used to this.
“Conte come in and won the league, Sarri will last another year or two years and someone else will come in and they’ll take charge and go and win the league again.
“This club is just what it’s designed to do. It’s a completely different club to anyone else.”
To be fair to Chelsea, almost every decision of the club in terms of managerial changes has been fair and yielded results.
In defence of Sarri, he just looks like the long-term manager Roman Abramovich has been yearning for. Roman’s desire for good football has finally been achieved, and Sarri just has that bit of temperament that’ll make him live peaceably with the powers that be at Chelsea.
