Eden Hazard was outstanding for Belgium in the World Cup and captained Belgium to third place in the FIFA World Cup.
The 27-year-old has also taken the same form to Chelsea this season, and has been the best player in the league so far this season.
Having banged in five goals already, Hazard has been labelled as the best player in the world by Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri.
It isn’t just Sarri who thinks highly of Hazard, his country boss Roberto Martinez has called Hazard world-class after seeing him score 26 goals in his last 26 games for Belgium.
“I’ve seen Eden at a sensational level in the World Cup and he’s carried that on with Chelsea this season,” Martinez said.
“Eden has been involved in 26 goals in his last 26 games for the national team.
“That is world-class level.
“All we want is for him to carry on enjoying that football because with the talent he has you want to see that.
“He has also brought some fantastic leadership to the national team.”
Hazard was named in FIFpro’s Team of the Year after an impressive year for the Belgian.
Chelsea fans will be hoping Hazard will be in form for the double-header against Liverpool this week, and the Chelsea star is looking forward to this clash.
“Next weekend we play Liverpool at home. I hope we can keep this momentum and keep winning games,” Hazard said.
“Everyone can score goals and create chances, so that’s why we have been good.
“We need to keep playing like this and we have confidence at the moment to do so.
“Liverpool is the kind of game where you want to shine, so we will I hope.”
