Kick Off: Sunday October 30, 2016. 16:00 GMT

Venue: St Mary’s

Southampton host Chelsea in the Premier League on Sunday, and it’ll be a tough battle.

Southampton have 13 points from 9 games, while Chelsea are with 19 points from 9 games.

The last time these two sides met, Chelsea ran out 2-1 winners at St Mary’s during the last campaign, while Southampton defeated Chelsea 3-1 at Stamford Bridge last season.

The last six games between Chelsea and Southampton have seen Chelsea win 3, Southampton win 2, and two ending in draws.

In their last league game, Southampton were a difficult nut for Manchester City to crack, the game ended in a 1-1 draw, while Chelsea defeated Manchester United 4-0.

Southampton’s ground has been a tough ground to play in this year. In fact, Chelsea are the only side to have beaten Southampton at St Mary’s in a league game in 2016.

Southampton have only lost one of their last nine games in all competitions (W5, D3). The Saints also have a good defence, and only Tottenham (8) have conceded fewer league goals than Southampton’s nine this season.

My prediction: The Saints have not kept a clean sheet in any of the last 13 meetings, meaning Chelsea will surely get a goal. St Mary’s have been a tough ground to come to, and Southampton’s defence have been solid, but I believe Chelsea will win 2-1.
