Chelsea is set to play Southampton on Sunday at the St Mary’s and Paul Merson believes the match will be a difficult one for Chelsea.
Paul Merson believes Chelsea should be taken seriously as title contenders if Chelsea win a difficult Southampton side on Sunday.
“Southampton have only lost one in their last 10 and this is a really difficult match for Chelsea,” Paul Merson told Sky Sports.
“Claude Puel’s side will put up a real fight on Sunday because they are extremely difficult to break down and a threat going forward.
“I’m picking a draw but if Chelsea do manage to get a win at St Mary’s, you need to put them back up as contenders.”
Chelsea are title contenders and they they will beat the saints and any mistake at the top will ensure that they are in the top three
