Chelsea’s 1-0 victory over Middlesbrough at the Riverside Stadium was Chelsea’s sixth consecutive victory since the embarrassing loss to Arsenal.

Chelsea are top of the league and Chelsea have all it takes to win the league when the season ends in May.

5 Reasons why Chelsea can win the Premier league this season

1. SOLID DEFENCE

To win the Premier League, one important ingredient a team should have is a strong defence. Chelsea currently have the most clean sheets (7) in the Premier League this season and Chelsea have failed to concede in the last six Premier League games.

2. EDEN HAZARD

When at his best, Eden Hazard is the type of player that can help a team win titles and Chelsea is lucky to have him in the team and playing his best football again. Hazard is back to his best after he was given a free role by Conte. He has scored seven Premier League goals already this season.

3. DIEGO COSTA

The last time Diego Costa topped the Premier League goal scoring charts, Chelsea won the league. Costa struggled last season as Chelsea struggled but he is undoubtedly the best striker in the Premier League this season. He tops the goal scoring charts with 10 Premier League goals.

4. NO EUROPEAN FOOTBALL

Not qualifying for Europe last season after a poor season will definitely help Chelsea this season. Having no European football to look up to means the players have more time to recover between Premier League games. This will be key for Chelsea as the season progresses.

5. ANTONIO CONTE

Antonio Conte is proving Roman Abramovich was right to give him the job as he has turned around the fortunes of the team in a very short time. Unlike most Italian coaches, Conte has got Chelsea playing attacking football and scoring lots of goals. His switch to the 3-4-3 formation is a masterstroke.
