Marcos Alonso has been ever-present in Chelsea’s new 3-4-3 system, and the Spaniard has revealed that he’s happy with the team’s form, and the manner which the team is working hard now.

Speaking after the Everton game, he said: “Overall we have to keep working as we are doing now because the team is playing very well and this is the way we have to follow.

“We have settled well in this system. We are all defending well, all the players are running and helping each other and I think that is the main thing.

“Even if we play four at the back, three at the back, if we all run like this and we all put this passion into the game, I think it’s going to be tough to beat.”

The victory took the Blues to the top of the Premier League table on Saturday, although a Liverpool victory took us to 2nd place, but Alonso knows there is still plenty of football to be played.

“It’s good to be at the top but the important thing is to be there at the end of the season so now we will have to fight to stay up there.” He concluded.

Chelsea is more than just a football club to me; it's a passion I share, and my affinity with the Chelsea badge is one that will last forever. As far as watching my favourite team is concerned, I'd rather miss a meal than miss a Chelsea game.
