Chelsea defender and France international Kurt Zouma hasn’t played for Chelsea since suffering a serious knee injury against Manchester United in February.
Zouma is back in training and has made a couple of appearances for the Under-23s in recent weeks as he continues his recovery to full fitness.
Antonio Conte revealed today that Zouma will make another appearance with the Under-23s against Oxford United in the Checkatrade Trophy on Tuesday and Zouma will then be available for selection after the international break.
“I’m pleased for him. He played in two games for the Under-23s and will play another game on Tuesday. He’s recovering. His recovery is very good and we are satisfied with this. Now we hope he can stay with us for the rest of the season,” Conte said when asked about Zouma.
“It’s normal that, when you start after a long period of rest, you need to find the best form, the best shape, and I think after the international break they [Fabregas and Zouma] will be available for selection.”
