Barcelona have reportedly “made contact” with Chelsea over a move for veteran defender, Branislav Ivanovic.

Barcelona have shown interest in the Serbian international, and according to The Sun, Barcelona are keen on the Serbia captain because he can also slot in at centre-back if needed.

Ivanovic’s contract with Chelsea ends during the summer, and Barcelona are pushing for a January transfer.

Luis Enrique is said to be studying the market because Vidal wants to head back to old club Sevilla in the winter transfer window.

Ivanovic has lost his place in the Chelsea squad, since Conte’s switch to a 3-4-3 system, and it’s unclear whether Chelsea will renew the 32-year-old’s contract.
