Chelsea showed interest in signing Benfica’s Victor Lindelof during the summer, but apparently the move didn’t materialise, as the Blues secured the signing of David Luiz on transfer deadline day.
Chelsea are interested in signing the Benfica defender during the winter transfer window, but Benfica have told Chelsea that they will need to pay the full value of Victor Lindelof’s release clause if they’re to beat Juventus to the Benfica defender’s signature. According to Italian outlet Calciomercato, his release clause stands at £25.8 million.
Benfica will be looking to make a huge profit from the sale of Lindelof who they bought from Vasteras in January 2012 for just €60,000.
Lindelof, who can also play in defensive midfield, will thrive in Conte’s 3-4-3 formation, and Chelsea will face stiff competition from Juventus for his signature.
