Chelsea youngster Andreas Christensen has blossomed as a centre-back for Borussia Monchengladbach, and the club are eager to keep him.
The 20-year-old sealed a two-year loan move to the Bundesliga outfit in 2015, and his stay at the German club is to end after this season.
Chelsea are keen on keeping the Danish defender after his loan spell ends with Monchengladbach, but club director Max Eberl has said the club “will fight” to try and extend the loan deal for Chelsea defender Andreas Christensen.
Speaking to SportBild, he said: “We will fight for Andreas.”
Christensen has been a revelation in Germany, and was named as the club’s Player of the Season after his performances in the 2015/16 campaign.
