Chelsea midfielder Nathaniel Chalobah has become a mainstay in the England U21 side, and the 21-year-old won his 34th cap for England’s Under 21 side in the dramatic 3-2 win over Italy on Thursday, moving into second place on the all-time list alongside Tom Huddlestone, Fabrice Muamba and Nathan Redmond. James Milner holds the record with a remarkable 46.
The Chelsea midfielder is proud of his feat, and he said: “I try not to pay attention to stuff like that, but I suppose it’s a great achievement and I am proud.
“This is a really high level to be playing at for your country. Getting into the Under 21s is a great achievement on its own, no matter how many caps you get.” said the Blues midfielder.
He has now played 34 times for the U21s, and 90 for England’s age groups.
