Chelsea produced a five-star performance last night to demolish Everton 5-0 at the Bridge and move top of the Premier League table.

Man of the match Eden Hazard scored two brilliant goals while Pedro, Costa and Alonso scored one each.

Here are 5 things we learned from Chelsea’s demolition of Everton

1. DIEGO COSTA SHOWS ROMELU LUKAKU WHO THE BOSS IS

Chelsea tried to bring back Romelu Lukaku during the summer but refused to meet Everton’s £75 million asking price. Diego Costa showed Romelu Lukaku who the boss is in the battle of the strikers . While Lukaku struggled to make an impact and failed to trouble Thibaut Courtois, Diego Costa tormented Everton’s defence and his goal was well deserved. Conte won’t regret missing out on Lukaku.

2. CHELSEA ARE THE TEAM TO BEAT

After Chelsea’s 3-0 demolition at Arsenal, every Chelsea fan feared for the worst but Antonio Conte has proved Chelsea were right to give him the job by turning Chelsea into a well-oiled machine. Since the Arsenal loss, Chelsea have now won 5 consecutive Premier League games including the demolition of Manchester United and Everton at the Bridge. Chelsea now look faster, more industrious, hungrier and sharper.

3. CHELSEA ARE TITLE CONTENDERS

No one including Chelsea fans would have tipped Chelsea for the league back in September especially after the humiliating defeat at Arsenal. Chelsea now top the table after demolishing Everton at the Bridge. Chelsea’s defence is now super-tight and Chelsea can’t stop scoring. Chelsea are indeed title contenders.

4. PEDRO IS IN HOT FORM

Pedro struggled with the rest of the team last season following his £22 million move to Chelsea and the Spanish international looked like an expensive mistake last season. These days, Pedro looks a different player and he is in red-hot form. Pedro’s brilliant performance was summed up in his brilliant assist for Eden Hazard’s second goal. Pedro is full of confidence these days and Willian will have to work harder to get back into the side judging on Pedro’s current form.

5. HAZARD IS UNSTOPPABLE

Eden Hazard has to be the best player in the world at the moment. Eden Hazard was involved in everything for Chelsea. Hazard’s form for Chelsea is even better than the form that saw him win the PFA Player of the Year in Chelsea’s title winning season. His brace and an assist was well-deserved. Conte has given him a free-role in the side and the Belgian has responded by producing brilliant performances for Chelsea.
