Gone are those days of “boring, boring Chelsea” and park the bus football. This Chelsea side built by Antonio Conte is very offensive; they play good football and are among the 3 most attacking teams in the Premier League this season.
Even in our first six league games where we seemed to have struggled, creating chances wasn’t a problem for the team. You’d recall that it was only against Arsenal that Chelsea struggled to create chances. In the second half against Liverpool, the Blues were intent on attacking, and pinned Liverpool in their own half.
According to stats released by Squawka Sports, Chelsea are the third team that have created the most chances in the Premier League this season.
First are Liverpool with 171, followed by Manchester City with 152 and Chelsea with 147. Spurs and United follow closely with 143 and 140 respectively.
Chelsea created 76 of those chances in the first 6 league games of the season, and the problem with the team at the time was just the defensive balance. Since Antonio Conte switched to a 3-4-3 formation, the team now has the defensive stability that has since been missing, and it’s been a case of goals galore and a perfect defence.
Surely, we are gunning for the title this season.
