Former Chelsea player Pat Nevin, who writes a column in the official Chelsea website, has revealed how impressed he is with the performances of many Chelsea players on international duty. The Blues players have taken their club form to country, and as many as four Blues players — Eden Hazard, Gary Cahill, Victor Moses and Mikel Obi scored for their countries.
In his column in the official Chelsea website, Nevin wrote: “So this week I was casting my gaze across the planet, keeping an eye on the Chelsea players representing their countries and feeling pretty happy for a few of them in particular. Eden Hazard for example has scored five in his last four league games but is also on a run of three goals in three for his national side. Victor Moses’s golden moment also continues apace with a brace against Algeria and Mikel scored the other one in a 3-1 win.
Okay, I will briefly touch on the fact that Gary Cahill scored against Scotland at Wembley in their routine 3-0 win against my country. I was there and yes it was as painful as it sounds. For Gary though, a clean sheet will have been just as important as England enjoy their customary stroll through the qualifying stages.”
We hope that they would bring back that form, as we face Middlesbrough, Tottenham and Manchester City after the international break.
