After a 3-0 defeat against Arsenal, Antonio Conte admitted that Chelsea are only great on paper.

“I think that from the first minute we didn’t have the right attitude and I think that we played against a good team, who were well organised in the tactical and physical aspect,”

“After today we are thinking that we must work a lot. Now we are a great team only on paper.

“I think that it is always a team problem, not individual players. When nothing works it is very difficult for a player to play a good game.” he told BT Sport.

Conte was frustrated after such an embarrassing defeat and many envisioned a total collapse for Chelsea, but a switch in formation the following month ensured we ended the month of October as the best team in the league; the Blues didn’t only win all their games, but the team didn’t let in a goal.

Chelsea have now found a new swagger, and the way the team cruises past opponents is quite commendable. A very assured defence, productive wing play and effective attack has seen Chelsea overcome every opposition they have faced since the switch in formation, and a 4-0 defeat of Manchester United just shows how far the team has come.

Chelsea are in the form of their lives, and even Antonio Conte must admit that Chelsea are back, and we are great not just on paper, but on the pitch as well
