Since joining up with Spain’s national team after Chelsea’s 5-0 win over Everton on Saturday, Costa has not trained with the squad. Instead, the Chelsea striker worked separately on his recovery with Spain’s physiotherapist Hugo Camarero.

He has missed two days training session due to a groin injury and is less likely to play for Spain.

AS claim that Chelsea are unhappy with Costa’s situation but Spain’s medical team are continuing to assess the striker’s condition with the view of potentially playing some part in the friendly against England next Tuesday.
