Chelsea will reportedly not stand in the way of assistant first-team coach Steve Holland if he wants to become permanent assistant to England’s coach Gareth Southgate, according to Standard Sport.
The FA are reportedly set to appoint Gareth Southgate as England’s new boss before the end of the month and Southgate wants Steve Holland to be his assistant.
Gareth Southgate and Steve Holland have a close bond after working together with the England Under-21s since 2013.
Chelsea will prefer if Holland combines working for England and Chelsea but will not stand in his way if he wants to accept a full-time position with England.
Holland has been coach at Chelsea since 2009 and has been assistant manager at Chelsea for the last five years.
