As the International break gradually comes to an end, attention diverts back to league action. Also, the Premier League Player & Manager of the month of October Awards will be announced this weekend. With three Chelsea players: Kante, Hazard and Costa among the nominees for the award in the player category, let’s review their performances in October:
The energetic midfielder is evergreen looking like the best transfer business of the season in every game. His bustling and harrying playing style is absolutely fantastic. In 11 appearances this season, he has made 653 passes with a passing accuracy of 90% of which 61% were forward passes contributing to the teams attacking play. With 43% of duels won, 9 chances created and one goal scored against Manchester United, then surely he is a strong contender for the award. The diminutive midfielder’s all round display was superb in October.
My obvious choice for the award and his stats justifies my vote for him. He has scored 7 goals this season, creating 20 chances and 1 assist. Eden Hazard has completed 454 passes this season with a pass accuracy of 85%, of which 66% were forward passes. His performances have been jaw-dropping. His tally of 3 goals in October makes him more deserving of the award. He’s been an influential attack forte for Chelsea this season.
The combative, energetic and superb striker’s all round game and attitude has been excellent of late. His well-timed runs, holdup play, positioning, goal awareness and scoring touch has seen him net 9 league goals to top the scoring charts. His two delightful goals against Hull City and Southampton are absolute beauties and equally give him a strong stake for the award.
Let’s hope it’s going to be blues for one of our own. Cheers!
