Chelsea are the only team that haven’t conceded a goal in the last 4 Premier League games. Since Antonio Conte lined the team in a 3-4-3 formation, the Blues have been solid at the back and are yet to concede a goal.
Chelsea went to a tough ground on Sunday, and returned unscathed, taking away all 3 points at Southampton without leaking in a goal.
David Luiz who plays at the centre of the back 3 reveals that the reason Chelsea isn’t conceding goals is because of the hard work of the team from attack to defence.
He said: “It’s everybody, it’s not just the three at the back that don’t concede goals, it’s the mentality of the team when you don’t have the ball,” the Brazilian explained.
“The first defender is Diego and after that everybody defends. Diego, Hazard, Pedro, Willian, Oscar, Michy – it doesn’t matter who plays, they are doing great on the defensive side and it’s much easier for us defenders.
“It was a difficult game like every time you come here to play against Southampton. They play amazing football with a great philosophy, but I think we did an intelligent game and waited for the exact moment to kill the game. It was a very important win for our ambitions.”
Chelsea play Everton next, and hopefully the good run continues.
