Former Chelsea doctor Eva Carneiro has revealed how she received death threats from trolls in the wake of her infamous bust-up with Jose Mourinho.

Dr Carneiro was chastised by Mourinho after going on to the pitch to treat Eden Hazard against Swansea City at Stamford Bridge in August 2015, which led to a bust up between the two and her subsequent exit from the club.

Dr Carneiro departed from Stamford Bridge soon after the incident, but continued to receive sinister abuse online from “faceless cowards”.

“Even though I don’t have a presence on social media … some of the threats of sexual violence and death threats make it through,” she told the Daily Telegraph.

“They (the abusers) just seem to be faceless cowards and they should be answerable to legislation.”

In July she settled with the club and its former manager out of court.
