Chelsea vs Tottenham last season was probably one of the best games last season, and for Chelsea fans it’s probably one of the best 2-2 draws we can think of.

Former Chelsea player, Pat Nevin, who’s also a columnist in the official Chelsea website, believes that Tottenham hold a grudge against Chelsea, because that draw ended their hopes of winning a title, and compared to Chelsea, Spurs haven’t won a title in many years. 1961 was the last time Spurs won a title.

Nevin wrote: “It should be buzzing next Saturday evening as we all recall the atmosphere and tension the last time they arrived at the Bridge. There is enough needle already between the clubs but that night when Chelsea finally destroyed their chances of catching Leicester last season, it added yet another chapter in the litany of grievances from the Spurs fans against Chelsea. The main silent complaint is that it is rather a long time since they have won the league in comparison to Chelsea, so for the Blues to scupper their best chance in a generation, well you can see why it stung.”

The former Chelsea player also believes that last season’s fixture will add another dimension to this weekend’s game against Spurs.

“That 2-2 draw was an evening game and of course this one will be under the lights as well. It always seems to add just a little but more to the drama and the new light show at Chelsea before these games is helping lift it even further.” Nevin wrote.

Chelsea is more than just a football club to me; it's a passion I share, and my affinity with the Chelsea badge is one that will last forever. As far as watching my favourite team is concerned, I'd rather miss a meal than miss a Chelsea game.
