France will be disappointed at drawing with Ivory Coast, but despite the goalless draw, the French media still took out time to acknowledge the Chelsea midfielder, in a game that saw Euro 2016 stars Paul Pogba and Dimitri Payet fumble.
After the game, Pogba was given a 3/10 rating and Payet a 2/10 rating, but Kante got a 7/10 rating by France Football.
France Football said of Kante’s performance: “The Chelsea player is really more than an alternative for France.
“Simple in his control and passes, he cleared, recovered and had a 90% pass accuracy. He even dared a shot on target but it was weak from 20 metres.
“He also wiped out some Ivorian chances, but was a tone below in the second period.”
The Chelsea midfielder is outstanding and even France head coach Didier Deschamp reckons that Kanté has “gone up a level” since joining Chelsea.
