For Tuesday’s round of international matches, England vs Spain at the Wembley Stadium was probably the biggest game last night, and in many ways the match lived up to its expectations.

Cesar Azpilicueta and Gary Cahill, who have formed a formidable partnership in a 3-man defence at Chelsea, were on the opposite sides as England hosted Spain. Azpilicueta returned to his left-back role for Spain and he was caught painfully by the studs of Jamie Vardy, who had slid through a tackle but went unpunished early in the game.

In a thrilling game which England were 2-0 ahead, Iago Aspas put one in the net for Spain on the 89th minute, and then Isco made the final score 2-2 with a goal five minutes into added time. Gary Cahill came off for Phil Jagielka just after halftime, while Cesar Azpilicueta played the whole game for Spain.

N’Golo Kante played a full game as France drew 0-0 against Ivory Coast, and he also got a shot saved in the first half.

Serbia lost to Ukraine away from home in a friendly game. Branislav Ivanovic was introduced on 77 minutes in the 2-0 loss, while Nemanja Matic was an unused sub.

Also, Tomas Kalas played the full 90 minutes in Czech Republic’s 1-1 home draw against Denmark.
