There were a number of positive results for Chelsea players as they donned the colours of their national team.

Eden Hazard was on form for Belgium, as he scored the third goal for the Red Devils, as Belgium thrashed Estonia 8-1 in a World Cup qualifying game. Hazard was taken off due to a harsh tackle, but Roberto Martinez said after the game that it was only minor.

Also in Group H, Asmir Begovic was in fine form for Bosnia and Herzegovina against Greece but they were denied victory right at the death in Athens. A stunning 25-yarder from Georgios Tzavellas in the fifth minute of added time finally beat Begovic, to end the game all square.

Ghana suffered a disappointing 2-0 defeat to Egypt that leaves their hopes of qualifying for the World Cup in serious jeopardy. Loan players, Baba Rahman and Christian Atsu both played the whole game for Ghana.
