Chelsea captain John Terry has proven that he loves the team and is willing to put the team’s success ahead of his.

Chelsea’s backline have been doing well without the captain, and the Chelsea captain has admitted that although it is a strange thing to say, he does not want to break back into the first team as it means something will have gone wrong. Instead he would rather watch his side win the league without him, and not need him to come back into the team to try and fix something that isn’t working.

Terry, in an interview with his former teammate William Gallas for SFR Sports, revealed he doesn’t mind not being involved in the action. He says: “In the best possible way, this season, and it’s going to sound crazy, but if I don’t get back in the team it means that Chelsea are winning, and at the minute we are not conceding goals, it possibly means we’re going to win the league.”

“When I finish and when I leave, Chelsea Football Club will continue to win league’s, Champions League’s and football matches

“I’m in a position now when the team is playing unbelievable, playing really well, not conceding goals and I can’t get in the team, and that’s a good thing, I’m so happy for the boys and the team.”

For years, Chelsea have been trying to find a way to cope without long-serving captain John Terry. The Blues captain concluded by explaining that he is “so happy for the boys”, who have found a winning formula, that for the moment at least seems to be impenetrable.

He added: “When I’m sitting there and watching I appreciate how well they’re playing and like I said, if I don’t get back in the team it’s a thing because it means we carry on winning.

“In the nicest way, I hope I don’t get back into the team, because we carry on winning football matches.”
