Chelsea midfielder Mikel John Obi will be out of contract with Chelsea in the summer and he won’t be offered a new Chelsea contract according to reports.
According to Standard Sports, Mikel John Obi will leave Chelsea with his head held high after winning everything with Chelsea.
“Mikel hasn’t been able to contribute as much as he would have liked this season,” a source close to Mikel told Standard Sports.
“He missed the start of the season winning Bronze at the Rio Olympics with Nigeria, then suffered from a few injuries.
“But he remains fully committed to Chelsea and is working hard to get back in the team.
“He’s won everything there is to win at Chelsea.
“But if he isn’t to be offered a new deal, he’ll hold his head up high with everything he’s achieved at the club.”
Mikel is currently the second-longest serving player at Chelsea behind John Terry.
The 29-year-old midfielder has won 10 major trophies with Chelsea in 10 years including the Champions League in 2012.
