Everyone was surprised when Thibaut Courtois came out at halftime to join the subs warm up. He had barely had anything to do in the first half, and Nevin believes it’s probably because of the chilly weather, joined to the fact that he had nothing to do.

Nevin wrote: “Working for BBC Radio as co-commentator, I solemnly explained that Thibaut wasn’t being cheeky by warming up on the pitch for 10 minutes during half time. It was less to do with saying, ‘I have had nothing to do…again!’ and more to do with the fact it was a bit nippy up there, with even a few flurries of snow. He was just cold and yes, maybe just a little bit bored too.”
