Chelsea youngster Jake Clarke-Salter was taken to hospital after suffering what’s suspected to be a fractured arm playing for Bristol Rovers in Tuesday night’s League One match against Charlton Athletic.

Rovers were down 3-0 already when Clarke-Salter injured himself in a sliding challenge just past the hour mark.

Rovers manager Darrell Clarke said after the game: “We think Jake Clarke-Salter has fractured his arm. It will be a while until we see him again I think. It is disappointing especially at a time when we also have James Clarke injured.”

The 19-year-old has been an important part of Rovers’ defence, and had started five of Rovers’ last seven league games.
