Diego Costa tops the Premier League scoring charts and has been a completely different player for Chelsea this season compared to when he played under Jose Mourinho.

Under Antonio Conte, Diego Costa now commits less fouls per game compared to when he played under Jose Mourinho.

According to statistics, Diego Costa is fouling less this season and using that energy elsewhere on the pitch which is a good thing for Chelsea.

Last season, Diego Costa committed 43 fouls in 28 appearances, averaging 1.5 a game. He also committed 33 fouls in 26 games in our title winning season, averaging 1.3 fouls per game.

For the first time since Diego Costa signed for Chelsea, Costa isn’t fouling left, right and centre. Costa is currently committing less than a foul per game. This is definitely good news for Chelsea and testament of Antonio Conte’s man management skills.

Diego Costa is also shooting more under Antonio Conte than he did under Jose Mourinho.

In our title winning season, Costa averaged 0.8 goals per game and 2.9 shots per game. Last season, he averaged 0.4 goals per game and 2.4 shots per game.

This season, Diego Costa has averaged 0.8 goals per game but there is an improvement in his shots per game as he now averages 3.1 shots per game. This season Costa has a 70.8 per cent shooting accuracy compared to 52.8 per cent last season.

Chelsea fans are definitely seeing a different and exciting Diego Costa this season.
