Chelsea midfielder and Spanish international Cesc Fabregas has struggled for game time this season with his last appearance coming in Chelsea’s 3-0 defeat at Arsenal in late September.
According to a report by The Times, Chelsea will seek to loan out Fabregas in January because his £160,000 salary is deemed too expensive for an impact substitute.
The report also claims Chelsea will be willing to subsidise the wages of the 29-year-old midfielder to help seal a loan move.
The decision to let Fabregas leave in January isn’t as a result of any fall out between Conte and Fabregas. Conte has been impressed with the professionalism shown by Fabregas despite failing to get game time.
Conte has failed to play Fabregas because he feels his lack of physical presence and positional discipline means Fabregas isn’t right to feature in central midfield.
