Sampdoria president Massimo Ferrero has revealed Chelsea made an offer to buy Sampdoria striker Luis Muriel who is popularly known as the Colombian Ronaldo.
“Yes, there is an offer, so they tell me,” Ferrero told Italian media outlet Fantagazzetta when asked about Chelsea’s rumoured interest in Luis Muriel.
“But Muriel is not for sale. For £30.5 million we can talk.”
Muriel has a release clause of £30.5 million and Chelsea boss Antonio Conte is reportedly a fan of Muriel.
According to a report last week from Spanish news outlet Don Balon, Chelsea is reportedly interested in signing the 25-year-old striker to offer support up front for Diego Costa.
Muriel has a contract with Sampdoria until June 2019 and has scored four goals this season. Muriel won the award for best young player in Serie A in 2012.
