Everyone seems to have forgotten Jamie Vardy’s horror tackle on Cesar Azpilicueta when Spain played a friendly against England on Tuesday at the Wembley Stadium. But imagine if it was Diego Costa who made the exact challenge?
Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois feels the English media enjoys using Costa as a scapegoat.
“You could see against Spain, Jamie Vardy making a tackle on Cesar Azpilicueta and if that was Diego, I think we would be talking about this for two weeks,” Courtois told Daily Mail.
“But, you know, it’s Vardy so we probably won’t be talking about this here in England. His character [Diego] is a bit against him here in England. But he is a guy who wants to win and who leads the team out and that is important to have.”
