Chelsea veteran and the club’s current second long-serving player, John Mikel Obi has admitted that he might leave the club in January, if his situation continues.

Mikel is yet to play a game for Chelsea this season, and French giants Marseille are interested in signing him, but his wages of £75,000 per week might make it difficult for the French club to secure his signature.

According to Le 10 Sport Mikel may’ve been in contact with OM, but it’s unlikely he’ll drop his demands from his current €4 million salary. Marseille might find it difficult to foot the Chelsea star’s wages, and  he might have to take a pay cut to move to France for the deal to pull through.

Chelsea is more than just a football club to me; it's a passion I share, and my affinity with the Chelsea badge is one that will last forever. As far as watching my favourite team is concerned, I'd rather miss a meal than miss a Chelsea game.

  1. Chelsea is a club every right thinking person would like to join.
