I’ve always known Chelsea defender Cesar Azpilicueta to be a fast player, but in my head Theo Walcott is one of the fastest to have played the game. The Arsenal star has a terrifying pace that causes defenders problems, but definitely not someone like Cesar Azpilicueta.
The pair had a race in the course of the game between England and Spain, and the Chelsea man ran faster than the Arsenal man, hands down.
The one-on-one foot race took place on the halfway line in the first half as Azpilicueta played a one-two with Manchester City’s David Silva.
Walcott was slightly ahead of Azpilicueta when the race began. But Azpilicueta showed a surprising turn of pace as he quickly gained a few yards on Walcott.
And as the race progressed, the Arsenal forward was incapable of closing the gap.
Walcott had to bring Azpilicueta down eventually, as he couldn’t close down on the Chelsea man.

Before now, I’d have given it to Walcott, and from my Play Station experience, Theo Walcott is a legend as far as pace is concerned. But Azpilicueta has shown that he’s indeed faster than the Arsenal man.
Walcott’s pace on FIFA 16, 96, is well ahead of Azpilicueta, but after this race, I’d say that EA Sports got this all wrong.
