The 3-4-3 formation has come to stay for Chelsea, as the Blues have been unbeaten since Antonio Conte switched to the formation.
Kurt Zouma who has been injured since landing awkwardly during Chelsea’s Premier League clash with Manchester United earlier this year, damaging his anterior cruciate ligaments, is already adapting to the new formation.
He is yet to play a first-team game under Antonio Conte, but featured as part of a three-man defence for the development squad in the penalty shootout win over Oxford.
Ahead of the game, Zouma revealed that he hasn’t played in the 3-4-3 formation, but he’s adapting to it.
“We’ve played with three at the back in the last two games as well, which has been good for me to understand and learn the position a bit better. I’ve not played in that system much in my career but this is what the first team are using at the moment so it was good for me to experience it.” Zouma told the official Chelsea website.
