After the first three games of the season, I thought Chelsea will be among the top 3, but I wasn’t sure of Chelsea’s capabilities in just Antonio Conte’s first season, especially as we struggled to win against West Ham and Watford. Losses to Liverpool and Arsenal further gave me doubts about a top 4 finish, until Chelsea’s rejuvenation which started just after the loss against Arsenal.

Since the switch to a 3-4-3 system, Chelsea have looked a different side,  and the fact we’re top of the table is testament to how far the team has come under Conte.

Although it’s still early days, and many people have tipped Manchester City to win the league, due to the pedigree of Pep Guardiola and the quality of the squad, but I strongly believe Chelsea will run away with the title this season.

These are 3 reasons why Chelsea will win the league over Manchester City and Liverpool.

THE CONTE FACTOR

Antonio Conte has left his mark on this Chelsea side, which is something that hasn’t yet worked out with Pep Guardiola and Jurgen Klopp. There’s this team spirit and doggedness in the Chelsea side, and the players have become well-drilled in Conte’s tactics that everyone understands their role perfectly, and I believe this puts Chelsea ahead of Liverpool and Manchester City in the race for the title.

DEFENCE

The defence factor puts Chelsea way ahead of Liverpool and Manchester in the race for the title, and the fact that Chelsea have kept 9 clean sheets in the past 11 games only gives credence to Chelsea’s title-winning abilities.

Chelsea’s defence have been so strong that it’s almost impossible for the opposition to register a shot on target.

Chelsea’s defence have been an important part of Chelsea’s dominance, while Liverpool and City’s defence have been a huge part of their failings this season. They have both dropped points on many occasions due to their inability to hold on to leads.

RESILIENCE

Antonio Conte’s men are resilient and know how to grind victories, even when it seems impossible. The win against West Brom came from nothing, and at a time when everyone were thinking the game will end in a draw. Chelsea have won the last 3 games by a goal margin, and even when the team doesn’t play beautiful, they know how to fight and grind results.

Chelsea are currently top of the table, and will be so, come May 2017.
