Eddie Howe set his team up in a different way to face Antonio Conte’s rampaging Blues, and despite his team having a good game, Chelsea were just too good to handle.
The young manager speaking after the game explained the tactical side of his team’s performance. He said: “The system in itself helped us get on the ball, helped us control phases of the game, but if you turn the ball over it’s going to be difficult and we did that too many times.”
“The system gave us a platform to get close to them and to make sure they didn’t hurt us in the wide areas and the central areas with the way they play.”
