Chelsea and Manchester City have been fined for the failure to control their players in the mass brawl that occurred during Chelsea’s 3-1 victory against Manchester City on the 3rd of December.
Following an Independent Regulatory Commission hearing, Manchester City were fined £35,000 while Chelsea £100,000 (almost three-times the fine given to Manchester City) after both admitted a breach of FA Rule E20(a).
The mass brawl occurred after Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero’s knee-high horrendous tackle on David Luiz in the 95th minute of the game. Aguero was sent off for the tackle while Manchester City midfielder Fernandinho was sent off for grabbing Fabregas’ throat.
Is it fair Chelsea was fined £100,000 while Manchester City received a fine of just £35,000?
