25-year-old Chelsea playmaker Oscar is almost certain to leave Chelsea in January after Chelsea accepted a huge bid for the Brazilian from Chinese side Shanghai SIPG. The fee is believed to be around £52-60 million.
Ex-Arsenal player Martin Keown has warned Chelsea against selling Oscar mid-way into the season because he believes Chelsea will be left with a weaker squad if Oscar leaves now.
“I think his departure would weaken Chelsea’s cause – and you question the ambition of the player,” Keown told Daily Mail.
“Even though he is not playing at the moment, the 25-year-old would be moving away from the best league in Europe.
“Oscar is surely well paid as it is at Chelsea but with a transfer fee of £52 million, the club will no doubt happily take the pot of gold.”
It’s not the best decision Antonio have made on selling Oscar this might affect the team, you have to keep Oscar in the bridge.
