There have been stories about point deduction being linked with Chelsea, since the brawl against Manchester City last weekend, and to many Chelsea fans, it just seems ludicrous.

Blues legend Pat Nevin, in his column for the official Chelsea website revealed that Chelsea don’t warrant a deduction in points, bearing in mind that 2 City players saw red cards against Chelsea and 9 Spurs players were booked against Chelsea’s 3. A closer look at the last 2 incidences, and you’ll observe that it has been caused by the opposing teams, and they were correctly handled by the referee.

Nevin wrote: “As for the discipline charge, it is a bit rich considering that Chelsea were booted lumps out of by Spurs for the game when the previous charge was served. Remember that night 9 (NINE!) Spurs players were booked to Chelsea’s three!  This time the fracas followed David Luiz being disgracefully assaulted and two of our opponents being rightly sent off while none of Chelsea’s were shown red. Maybe time for a little bit of perspective I reckon and also a little less anti-Chelsea bias out there.”
