Chelsea defender Cesar Azpilicueta joined Chelsea from Marseille in 2012 for a fee of £7 million and Chelsea boss Antonio Conte feels Chelsea got the Spaniard on the cheap.
Azpilicueta signed a new contract today that would keep him at Chelsea until 2020 and Conte is pleased Azpilicueta has committed his future to Chelsea.
Conte said: “It was a good affair [piece of business] for us, for Chelsea. Azpi is a really good player.
“Now, I think, his valuation is very high. He’s an important player who can play in different roles. It was a good affair for the club.
“I’m pleased (he’s signed a new deal) and I’m pleased for him. He’s impressed me a lot with his commitment, his work-rate, his ability to play also in different roles.
“He’s a good professional and I’m for the club and the fans. A really good player has signed.”
