Despite Chelsea’s 1-0 victory against Sunderland, Chelsea manager Antonio Conte wasn’t happy with the players for their inability to kill the game.

Diego Costa, Willian, Fabregas, Kante and Moses missed good chances in the game to extend Chelsea’s lead and kill the game.

Sunderland nearly snatched an equaliser late on when Patrict van Aanholt volleyed at goal only for Thibaut Courtois to produce a magnificent save.

Conte told BBC Sport: “When you have the possibility to kill the game, you must kill the game. We had this possibility but we didn’t and at the end, Courtois made a good save.

“It was good, it is important for the future because today we didn’t pay but when you have the possibility to kill the game you must kill the game. I hope in the future we can improve.”
