Chelsea have conceded just 11 Premier League goals this season, which is the best defensive record in the league but Antonio Conte plans to make the defence even stronger next season by making some changes in Chelsea’s defence.
According to a report by Daily Mail, Conte wants to bring back central defender Andreas Christensen, who has impressed while on loan at Borussia Mochengladbach.
Roma pair Kostas Manolas, 25, and Antonio Rudiger, 23, are reportedly on Conte’s shortlist and Chelsea might submit a bid for any of the defenders when the transfer window reopens next month.
Middlesbrough’s Ben Gibson and Burnley’s Michael Keane are also on Conte’s shortlist according to the report. Conte hopes to maintain an English influence at the heart of his back line by signing either Gibson or Keane.
John Terry, 36, and Branislav Ivanovic, 32, are expected to leave Chelsea at the end of the season.
