With an abundance of players in midfield at Chelsea, rumours are still flying, and linking us with potential moves for more. One player that has increasingly become associated with Chelsea over the past number of weeks is Former Juve player, Arturo Vidal. The Chilean currently plies his trade in Germany with Bayern Munich, and although there’s not been an official word from both Bayern and Chelsea with regards to a potential move for the player, I can understand why there is a high likelihood for the transfer to happen.

As I earlier stated, Vidal has previously played for Juventus under Antonio Conte, so I can understand why there’s a desire to link up again. Under Conte, the man was at his finest, helping them secure trophies. The other factor that further fuels talks of a move is that Vidal appears tired of life in Germany. According to widespread reports, the Chilean is seeking a new challenge away from Germany. However, the way I see it, I think Chelsea do not really need an additional midfielder.  We have quite a number of players doing well already in that part of the squad, and even if there were to be an injury lay off for any of them, we have good legs on the bench. I understand the need to strengthen, but I honestly don’t see a space that needs filling there. We can invest in our attack, since Bats is the only other top striker available after Costa, but in midfield, I don’t see the need. That is what I think, but then, you too are entitled to your say too, so please tell us if you’d like to see Vidal or any other midfielder at Chelsea, and if that’s the case, who would you like to see go, cos obviously, someone would have to go from our end too.

King Jay is a writer/broadcaster with years of experience under his belt. His love affair with Chelsea actually began as a joke, but today, he stands tall as a die-hard blue. What makes him perfect for this blog? He lives for Chelsea FC, in fact, I heard he sat in the middle of a road, and refused to go home after that bitter loss to Barcelona in 2009. Haha.
