Former Chelsea midfielder Pat Nevin, in his column for the official Chelsea website reveals how happy he was with the 3-1 win against Manchester City, and he also revealed some of the things he enjoyed in that game; one of which was Cesc Fabregas’ pass to Diego Costa to level the scores against Manchester City.
However, Pat Nevin reveals that although many have called it the pass of the season, he believes Fabregas pass from deep for Diego Costa against Watford is the best pass of the season.
In his column in the official Chelsea website, he wrote: “So much happened at the weekend it is almost forgotten there were a few worried faces when Cesc Fabregas had to replace Nemanja Matic in the starting line-up, thus interrupting the long run of unchanged sides Antonio Conte has sent out. Let’s be fair though, it is not a complete panic when it is Cesc who is the replacement, especially a Cesc who is quite clearly totally committed to the cause even though he hasn’t had many opportunities of late.
“He may never do the ratting to the level of some others in that position but needless to say few others could play the pass he played for our equaliser. I did hear it said that it was the pass of the season so far. Good as it was, I personally don’t even think it was Cesc’s own best pass this season. I still think his through ball to Diego against Watford for the winning goal back then was the work of a sorcerer.”
