Chelsea are top of the table with 43 points, while Tottenham are in 5th place with 33 points. Despite the 10 point gap between Chelsea and Tottenham, Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino believes his team can catch up with the firing Blues.
Tottenham were nine points behind Leicester City on Christmas Day last season but closed that gap to just two by Valentine’s Day — and the Spurs manager believes his team can do it again.
“It’s true that we have a 10 point gap with Chelsea, but in football anything can happen,” he said. “There are lot of games to play. Not only because last season was a similar gap with Leicester, 8 or 9 points in that period.
“I think our position is good. Now we are winning games, keeping the gap now a little bit closer to second position. It is not tomorrow, not in a few weeks, that the Premier League finishes. I think it’s still a long way until the end of the season.” Said the Spurs manager.
Well, we all know he’s joking right?
