Chelsea’s 1-0 victory against Sunderland means Chelsea have won more games this season than we managed the whole of last season.
Danny Mills believes the turnaround this season is because players like Hazard and Costa enjoy playing for Antonio Conte more than Jose Mourinho.
“I think quite obviously the players now like their manager,” Mills told Sky Sports.
“Clearly last year the likes of Eden Hazard and Diego Costa didn’t really want to play for Jose Mourinho for whatever reason.
“It still hasn’t really come out, what possibly happened behind the scenes at Chelsea but obviously they didn’t perform until the last couple of games of the season.
“They’re now enjoying their football, enjoying the system they’re playing in and if you’ve got a happy player – you’ve got a good player.
“Suddenly with this new formation, the players like it, they’re winning football matches and Chelsea are on a fantastic run.”
