Even though Chelsea’s current form of eight consecutive wins have seen Chelsea rise to the summit of the Premier League, Antonio Conte doesn’t believe Chelsea or any other Premier League team can win the Premier League with 100 points.
For Chelsea to reach the 100-point mark this season, Chelsea have to drop just six points between now and the end of the season.
The only team that has come close to winning the Premier League with 100 points is Chelsea in 2005. Jose Mourinho lead Chelsea to a Premier League title in 2005 with 95 points.
Antonio Conte’s Juventus won the Serie A in 2014 with 102 points. Juventus won 33 of their 38 games including all 19 games at the Juventus Stadium.
When Conte was asked if that feat could be replicated in the Premier League, Conte said: “It is impossible.
“In this season and for sure in the future, it will be tough to get 100 points and every single game is very tough and to have won eight games in a row is fantastic because this league you have to fight in every game.
“You can win 2-0 but it will be a very difficult match. This is the great difficulty.
“I think this number, 95, is a fantastic number and you can see in the past that you can win with 85, 87 points.
“But to get 90, 95 is very difficult but for us, it is important to play game by game and look to take three points.”
