Captain John Terry has revealed he enjoyed kicking senior players in the squad while he was still a young player at Chelsea.
The 35-year-old defender revealed he wasn’t afraid to leave his mark on senior players at Chelsea while he was still a young player.
“As a young player, it was something that was in me,” Terry said as quoted by Daily Express.
“Off the pitch when I was really young, I had much respect for the first team players like Dennis Wise.
“But once I was on the pitch I used to tackle the first team players, kick them, even though they were my idols.
“I think the other players dealt with and respected that.
“Marcel used to say to me ‘you’re a young kid, this is fantastic.’
“When the older players used to say I couldn’t kick them, Marcel and Dennis Wise would say to them: Leave him, he’s a young boy, he’s learning, he wants to win.”
