At the end of last season, Leicester City were deserved league champions, while Chelsea ended up in lowly 10th position. Despite that, it didn’t stop N’Golo Kante from making the switch from the Premier League champions to the team who ended in the middle of the table.
Kante made the switch during the summer, and according to him, it’s because Chelsea are a Champions club.
Kante told the Sunday Times: “The year I spent there, it’s going to stay in my mind,”
“I always remember this day of May 2, we’re all together at Jamie’s [Vardy] house and see Chelsea play against Tottenham and it goes from 2-0 to 2-2 and we were champions.
“At Leicester we wanted to win and not lose and to fight for every minute. At Chelsea it’s the same.
“But the difference is Chelsea is a champion club, who have won everything and there are champion players. At Leicester for nearly everyone it was the first time.”
With Chelsea being top of the league and Leicester City just above the relegation spot, indeed it could be said that Kante made the perfect decision.
